SÍM Artist Residency, week 1, Reykjavik, Iceland

This is the start of the work I'll be making at the first of two artist residencies in Iceland (for sabbatical research titled Processing the Scape). The residencies: SÍM Artist Residency in Reykjavik (February 2016) and Hvitahus Artist Residency near Hellissandur (March 2016). The goal is to use drawings, paintings, and installations to examine new sources for the environments in my work, particularly by responding to and processing the Icelandic 'scape' and its extremes and subtleties. A big thank you for support from an International Activities Grant from the WKU Office of International Programs and a QTAG award from Potter College of Arts & Letters.
